Here we are, St. Patty's Day. This is the day we all go out to Irish Pubs listen to a little Celtic music and drink green beer. But do you know where the celebration originated? It originally started way back in the 17th Century and celebrates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland focusing on Irish heritage and culture.
Today we have translated this to mean shamrocks, wearing green and drinking beer. But why beer?
Because the drinking restrictions put in place due to Lent were lifted for this one day. This has encouraged drinking for the occasion.
