PhotoBooths are a wedding trend we have been seeing for the last few years, and I think they are here to stay for a while. We are always on the hunt to bring you fresh and creative ideas to punch up your special day. Here is a fantastic easy to make idea if you are having a PhotoBooth at your wedding! Created entirely with different foliage and large focal flowers, we simply pinned them onto a plain background. Using Burlap, lace or any fabric that coordinates with your theme can change the overall look to better flow with your design. Creating lasting memories that will last a life time.
Thanks so much for the photos CandyKoated Design Studio
Congratulations Grad 2016!
This years graduating class is all about expressing your own personal style and personality. What does your corsage say about you? Here are a few of our most popular designs.
This has been a long time a coming and we apologize for the delay. In April of 2016, we were invited to join a few of our friends at Novia Mia and had the opportunity to meet a few new ones.
The ladies at Novia Mia put together a fantastic Bridal Fashion Show that featured some of the newest trends in Central Alberta's most favorite styles. The Style was Not-So Shabby Chic, it was paired with lace and chiffon and everything pretty. It still pulled from the back home feel that we know is so popular in Central Alberta. Picture burlap and mason jars done absolutely beautiful with lush full blossoms of peonies, roses and lilies. We were able to combine it with some cutting edge floral designs using succulents and various foliage along with a very beautiful composite designed out of lilies. The smells were incredible and the night was delicious.
Our biggest trick of the night was combining silk flowers with fresh! This allows SOOOOOO much more flexibility for what we can offer you! Want ranunculus in August? You got it!

We had so much fun working on this stylized bridal shoot and collaborating with some amazingly talented ladies. The concept all began when Candice from Candy Koated Design Studio approached us to help her develop a concept. Her and Nicole from Sweet Art by Nicole (and sweet art it is!) had come up with a plan to do a photo shoot at the Allen House in Kerrywood Nature Center, Red Deer. They then joined forces with Novia Mia, Red Deer, about getting a few dresses and Something Borrowed for all the fun little props. We were so happy when they asked us to do the flowers especially since it gave us a perfect excuse to take one of the most popular trends and freshen it up with something up and coming. Re-introducing ROMANCE REVISITED with a little Gemstone Glimmer.
Burlap and lace is one of those tried and true trend, and i believe when I say this has definitely passed the fad period. It is a style I think we will be seeing for quite some time especially in Central Alberta with our country roots. We did want to show how you can take parts of this trend and add fresh new ideas to it to make it your own. Traditionally burlap and lace has been paired with neutral flowers, it is very common to pair cream garden roses, white peonies with hints of blush. Taking what we love and making it fresh involved popping those core foundation flowers with pops of colors inspired by gemstones. We added purple stocks to complement amethyst, and pinks for rose quartz. We wanted to brighten it up for spring but still keep it as pretty as flowers should be. Tones of fresh greens and pops of corals complimented authentic depression glass and rose gold china (that we stole from our mothers).
I think the best part about the entire shoot was that it took place on the models' one year anniversary! They got married in a whirl wind and so never had time to plan for a "typical" wedding. She had bugged him for years about setting a date and then one day she came into the room and he surprised her by saying, "We are getting married in 3 days"
And so it was.The bride borrowed her sisters white leather mini dress because that's what she could get. And her parents made her a cake. Sometimes when it happens it just happens. We were super happy to be able to recreate them a Beautiful Romance Revistied wedding.
Move over beige and blah, here comes a colorful and high contrast trend that shows how not so different our pasts and futures are from one another.
Just as a Ferris wheel goes round and round, so do the trends and attitudes of society.
Traditional or Modern? Why not do both? Here comes Ferris Wheel. It is old in a new way. Adding colour to the simple and classic white in the use of retro inspired pattern highlight the relationship between the two. Polka dots, stripes, chevron, and quatrefoil lead the way in wallpaper, dinnerware, stationery and fashion. Add some colored
mason jars, depression glass and chalk painted furniture from a grandparent and make it your own. Everything once thought ordinary is now cherished from using decorative cloth diapers to retro inspired bicycles and the new wave of canning and making preserves.
As everyone’s past and history is different, Ferris Wheel will be many different things to everyone, but its fun and playful feeling in contrast to a traditional past will surely create many lasting memories for the generation to come.
